IDFC Bank has partnered with global financial platform Uphold for inward remittances into the country.
Starting with the UK and US, Uphold’s users will be able to send money or make payments to anybody in the country, which will be redeemable in any Indian bank, IDFC Bank said in a statement today.
The partnership is yet to receive RBI nod, it added.
The private lender, which started operations in October last, currently has 48 branches.

Advancells plans to open stem cell research labs in Bengaluru. Advancells, a Noida-based stem cell therapy solution provider, will open state-of-the-art laboratories in Bengaluru to undertake research in stem cells for treatment procedures.
The laboratories are part of Advancells’ pan-India expansion plans to update its technology, keeping in line with the latest developments in the field around the world, the company said.
The first lab here will be functional in the next few days and others in subsequent months, it added.
Advancells CEO Vipul Jain said the new research labs in Bengaluru would not only enhance the diagnostic facilities here, but also make the treatment of degenerative diseases easier for patients.
The key areas that Advancells deals in are neurological conditions, orthopedics, chronic kidney diseases, COPD and other lung diseases, liver diseases, cardiology, autoimmune disorders, ophthalmology diseases, infertility and cosmetic procedures.
