Everyone wants to trade the stock market. But not everyone knows how. This is evident in the fact that 90% of traders fail to make money in the stock market and in fact most of them lose money.
If you are starting to get into the stock market don’t let those numbers deter you. Anybody can make money trading the stock market, but you cannot do it by following the mass and making the same mistakes over and over again. If you really want to make money from the market here are a few stock tips that can help you out.
1. Quit Listening to “Experts” Tell You Which Stock To Get Into
Of course having a mentor is a great thing. They can help you to achieve your goals and learn a lot more on how stocks actually work. But that does not mean you should ask every “expert” you find what you should do.
Everybody looks at the market slightly differently. The best thing to do is to simply learn how the stock market works and develop your own strategy out of that.
Instead of listening for some magical stock that is going to go up and make everyone a million dollars every night, see if you can understand how they trade and what they look for when trading. That will help you more in the long term.
2. Become an Expert Yourself
The next step you can take is to become an expert yourself. Learn as much as you can about the stock market and how it works and then create a system based off of what you have learned.
3. Backtest and Papertrade Your Strategies
Not every strategy works. If you create a plan on when to get in and when to get out of a stock then the first thing that you are going to want to do is to backtest and papertrade it.
Backtesting is the process of looking at how stock performed in the past and more importantly how your strategy would have performed in the past. Papertrading on the other hand means going out and trading with your strategy but with a “fake” account.
These will give you a good idea on how well a system is working and if it will actually make you money or not.
