Considering the Samsung Galaxy S7 is the top phone by interest in our database, we think we already know the answer, but we’ll ask regardless – what do you think of the S7?
That is just the S7, we’ll be looking at the S7 edge very soon. Speaking of edges, the S7 has a 5.1″ QHD screen, flat just like the S6. This year there won’t be a 5″ curved screen option. We like the 2.5D Gorilla Glass, though, and the Always On feature is a nice perk.
The Dual Pixel autofocus of the camera is out of this world, even most DSLRs appear sluggish in comparison. The bright f/1.7 aperture combined with the larger pixels makes for excellent low-light shooting.
Samsung also corrected some omissions from last year – the microSD slot is back (yay, affordable storage!) and the phone is water resistant, Galaxy S5 users that held out are probably pondering an upgrade. Okay, you still can’t replace the battery, but at least this time the capacity is better.
What else? Samsung is still pretending USB Type-C doesn’t exist, perhaps USB experimentation is one thing from the S5 that Samsung does not want to bring back. The IR blaster seems to be gone for good.
