Two persons were killed in an accident at a LPG pipeline of state-owned gas utility GAIL India Ltd at Suryapet in Telangana.

The accident occurred when an instrumental ‘pig’, which is used to clean the pipeline, ejected out of the pipeline, killing the two persons standing at the mouth of the pipeline, an official said.

There was no fire or blast, he added.

One of the dead is a GAIL employee and the other is a worker of the contractor.

The two were not supposed to stand in front of the barrel of the pipeline during the pigging or cleaning operations, he said.
