Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Yogendra Yadav, who has been expelled from the party’s national executive, on Saturday said the happenings in the national council meeting was worst than any other political party who had been accused of such activities.

“It is with sadness and shame that we are sitting before you. We had promised the nation a new type of politics. But today, what happened at the AAP national council meet is shameful. What happened today was worse than what we have been accusing other parties of,” he said.

He accused AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal of doing nothing when the national council members were being beaten and alleged that the meeting was an orchestrated performance.

“I went to Arvind ji [Kejriwal] and Manish ji [Sisodia] and said look national council members are being beaten, Arvind ji just stood there,” he added.

“The moment Arvind said an elderly member did this, 10 people started shouting slogans, ‘gaddaron ko bahar karo, gaddaron ko nikalo’ (throw out the traitors). Arvind Bhai stood there watching,” he added.

Yadav further said that Kejriwal ended his speech in a dramatic matter in the meeting and left ….. saying that he had to attend an important meeting.

He also requested the people not to judge them and the AAP with the happenings at the national council meet.

Earlier, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said in a press conference that the national council has taken a unanimous decision to remove Yadav and Bhushan and added that 247 people have signed the resolution.

He also denied the allegations that the national council members were beaten up.

“It is a lie that people were beaten up during the NC meeting. Ramzan Chaudhry had started shouting when Arvind was speaking. He did not stop even when being asked to,” Singh said.

“They were not ready to listen to the resolution moved by majority. They left the meeting without taking part in the discussion. Nobody can be allowed to force their own decision on decisions taken by the National Council unanimously,” he added.
