Alcatel 1 Android Go smartphone goes official, costs $89

The entry-level Alcatel 1, detailed specs and renders for which leaked late last week, has now been made official by the company. The device costs $89/79, and will be available “in select markets” starting July (it’s reasonable to assume the US and Europe will be getting it).

The device is powered by Mediatek’s MT6739 chipset, and sports a 5-inch display of 960×480 pixel resolution (18:9 aspect ratio). RAM is 1GB, while storage is 8GB. The camera department is handled by a 5MP rear unit and a 2MP (interpolated to 5MP) front shooter.

Measuring 137.6 x 65.7 x 9.8mm and weighing in at 134g, the device runs Android Oreo (Go edition), and packs in a 2,000mAh battery. Color options include Metallic blue, Metallic gold, and Metallic black.
