The Xiaomi Mi Box, which was launched back in 2016, never got an official Nougat update. However, in a surprising turn of events it went straight to Oreo. A user has confirmed that their unit has already got the update.
While that’s certainly good news for Mi Box users, keep in mind the one who got the update had enrolled in the beta program when the Chinese company was looking for beta testers last year.
What this means is the update is likely only available to beta testers at the moment despite it being a stable build. So those who are not part of the beta testing group (which means majority of users) will have to wait for the update to begin rolling out more widely.
